Here is a summary of the engineering continuing education requirements mandated by the New York Board of Professional Engineering and Land Surveying.

|Course content approval||Any program with a clear purpose and objective which will maintain, improve or expand the skills and knowledge relevant to the licensee's field of practice. Subject matter which is technical in nature or addresses professional ethics, codes or other similar topics which facilitate the licensee's professional development as a professional engineer and serves to safeguard life, health and property and promote the public welfare. At least 1 PDH in Ethics must be taken by engineers every renewal period. 18 PDH can be online courses the other 18 hours should be in the form of a live seminar where there is interaction between the engineers and the instructor.|
