Course Fee: $24.00
10 pages
Course summary:
This course provides interim guidance on construction and economic considerations with regard to the use of low-density concrete.
Learning Objectives:
By the end of this course the participant will learn:
- This course applies to U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Commands having responsibility for design of civil works projects.
- Constructibility considerations differ from that of normal-density concrete to maximize the quality of concrete and avoid problems during construction.
- While the cost of low-density grade aggregate is higher than normal-density grade aggregate, cost savings can be realized to mitigate this extra cost, and a cost analysis must be done on a project-by-project basis.
- A discussion of pertinent issues related to mixing, placing, curing, pumping, laboratory and field control, and the economics of LDC are presented.
- This document is free to download. The quiz is also free to download and take as many times as the participant wants until passed before purchase.
